Whenever I have a wedding where the couple and their guests are alumni of Texas A&M it is always guaranteed to be a great time. Every once in awhile you have a wedding that exceeds all expectations. On November 24, 2018 at Vista West Ranch in Dripping Springs; Alex & Cammi Scott said “I do” and had a wedding that their guests will be talking fondly of for decades to come. I was there to provide the soundtrack and experience and Lauren with ML Photo & Film captured the evening perfectly.
The day started out like most; beautiful ceremony sealed with a kiss but with no hint of what was to come.
With them being huge Aggie fans and knowing that the final game of the year versus LSU would occur during their wedding they asked if I could bring a projector and screen for later in the night. I ended up secretly talking to their parents and decided we should use the projector to display images of them growing up during the parent dances.
After parent dances we did the anniversary dance where I had a chance to talk to the longest married couple and pay homage to them. If your grand parents are still with us we encourage doing the anniversary dance because it can really help kick off the dance floor.
Once the formalities were done we had tons of generations dancing and having a great time.
Our groom (Alex) tells me it’s the 4th quarter of the A&M/LSU game and asked that I fire up the projector again so they can watch the end of the game. None of us had any idea that the game would go into overtime 7 times! I kept the music going while we watched the game. We were all on the edges of our seats until the Aggies came out victorious winning the game 74-72.
After A&M was victorious we had to end with the Aggie War Hymn. I even had the lyrics playing on the big screen in the background so that those who wanted to participate and pretend that they were Aggies!
Every moment of this wedding from beginning to end was perfect and it was in large part to Cammie & Alex. We had a flawless ceremony, festive cocktail hour, wonderful surprises utilizing the projector and screen during our special dances, epic dancing with all generations partying together, a victory for all of the Aggies that were in attendance and “We Bleed Maroon” playing in the background as the bride and groom exited the venue.
I pride myself on really customizing each wedding to each couple. No two weddings and no two couples are alike. Cammie and Alex along with their parents really took the time to work with me. The better I got to know them and understand their guests, the better recommendations I was able to provide them regarding how we can truly customize their day.
I’ve had a lot of really epic weddings but this wedding has to rank in my top 5 of all time. If I had it to do all over again, I would have went to Texas A&M. No disrespect to any other school but Aggies blend intelligence, kindness and a willingness to party hard each and every time.
This wedding would not be nearly as epic if we didn’t have an amazing team working together.
